Around the world, when our persecuted brothers and sisters are asked how we can help them, their first request is always, “Please pray for us.” It’s time for us to pray for those who share our FAITH but not our FREEDOM because:

  • 75% of all people persecuted for their religious beliefs on earth are Christians.
  • Last year at least 2,983 Christians were killed for their faith, 9,488 churches and other Christian buildings were attacked, and 3,711 believers were detained without trial, arrested, sentenced or imprisoned.
  • The #1 persecuting nation is North Korea, but now in 11 nations believers face a similar level of persecution.

10 Ways to Pray for Our Persecuted Family

  1. They ask for access to a Bible.
  2. They ask for strength to share the gospel, fearlessly telling others.
  3. They ask for protection for their pastors and evangelists.
  4. Many need a spiritual family to replace their family of origin that rejected them.
  5. Many need safe places to live and jobs to supply for their families.
  6. Pray for their persecutors, that they would have a revelation like Paul.
  7. Pray for families that have lost or are missing loved ones.
  8. Pray for grace and strength for those currently imprisoned for their faith.
  9. Pray for government officials in hostile nations- for their salvation.
  10. Pray for Christians in free nations- that we would understand “the fellowship of suffering” (Phil. 3:10) and stand with our brothers and sisters as advocates- by sacrificially giving aid, writing letters to governments, and providing Bibles.

Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” Hebrews 13:3
