Can You Handle The Scandal?
Today we are kicking off a brand new series – digging into the most challenging aspects of our faith. If you’re a follower of Jesus, or if you have spent any time reading through the Word, chances are you have come across some statements, ideas or commands that have made you think twice about what we know as Christianity. You might have asked yourself, “Is Jesus just having a bad day here?” The overwhelming love and joy that a relationship with Jesus brings is often mistaken to mean that he only cares about our safety and comfort, but He is interested in so much more.
We are diving back into the sermon on the mount, what could be called the Manifesto of the Kingdom, and Jesus is at it again. We are going to look at something that affects the condition of our hearts perhaps more than anything – what happens when someone wrongs us? What does Jesus expect and what does the higher citizenship call us to in His Kingdom?
